Yummy Gluten-free Energy Bars

A recipe for gluten-free energy bars that you may find beneficial to recommend to your patients who are on a gluten-free diet or who simply prefer a healthy, energy-boosting snack!


Homemade Gluten-Free Energy Bars Ingredients:

- 1 cup of gluten-free rolled oats

- 1/2 cup of raw almonds

- 1/2 cup of dried fruits (e.g., cranberries, raisins, apricots)

- 1/4 cup of honey or maple syrup

- 1/4 cup of almond or peanut butter

- 1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips (gluten-free)

- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

- A pinch of salt


Instructions: 1. In a food processor, blend the oats and almonds until they reach a coarse consistency. 2. Add the dried fruits to the mixture and pulse again until well combined. 3. In a separate bowl, mix together the honey (or maple syrup), almond (or peanut) butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. 4. Combine the oat mixture with the liquid mixture, and stir in the chocolate chips. 5. Press the mixture firmly into a lined baking dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. 6. Cut into bars and enjoy!
